The Paradise Suite was selected as the Dutch entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 88th Academy Awards and screened in the Discovery section of the 2015 Toronto International Film Festival. The film by Joost van Ginkel won three Golden Calves at the Netherlands Film Festival; for Best Film, Best Actor (Isaka Sawadogo) and Best Screenplay.
